Luxury Vacations in Fiji

Think luxury vacation and you’ll conjure up thoughts of privacy, pampering, and paradise. In Fiji, you’ll find all three of those and much more at resorts that truly rank as some of the finest in the world.

Holiday luxury is important to those who can afford a little extra. Many come to the islands of Fiji for total escape. Here, that’s certainly possible. There are many islands which are sparsely inhabited, offering the ultimate in privacy and quiet. Small resorts for those with discriminating tastes are plentiful in Fiji. It’s not unusual to find a resort that offers accommodations for only 10-12 couples - sans children. Many include deluxe bures, private beaches for each couple, and a host of top-notch amenities that will have you feeling like the king and queen of Fiji…if there were such a thing!

Some of the best luxury accommodations are found in the Yasawa Islands group including both Turtle and Yasawa Island, where the waters are azure and the sands white and powdery. Other locations to consider are the Savusavu Bay on Vanua Levu in the north, and Vatulele, south of the main island.

These resorts are often referred to as “barefoot” resorts as you’ll never really need to put on more than your swimsuit to enjoy your vacation and shoes are never a necessity. You can enjoy meals in your bure or on the beach – prepared by expert chefs using the finest home-grown ingredients, pamper yourself in world-class spas, or simply swing in your hammock and do absolutely nothing.

A large majority of these luxury resorts have been awarded accolades by magazines such as Conde Nast Traveler and Islands and visitors should expect to pay a hefty price for such opulence. However, if you are hoping for the holiday of a lifetime or a place to enjoy the ultimate romantic getaway, a Fiji luxury vacation should be a consideration.

Fantastic Fiji Weddings

Speaking of romance, Fiji has become increasingly popular as a favorite place to plan a destination wedding. Think of all the possibilities! There are so many islands from which to choose and the diversity of the terrain means you can plan more than just a wedding on the beach. Adventurous couples have been known to schedule rainforest weddings or even ceremonies atop Fiji’s highest peak.

If you’re looking for traditional, however, there’s plenty of that, too, including churches and chapels, pristine botanical gardens, and resorts with areas set aside especially for wedding ceremonies.

One of the nicest things about planning a Fiji destination wedding is that your guests can combine your special day with an unforgettable holiday for themselves. Another advantage is that you can combine your wedding ceremony, reception, and honeymoon all together, never having to leave these magical islands until it’s time to return to reality!

Fiji boasts a very simple licensing process for couples hoping to marry here. You’ll be required to produce a birth certificate (original or certified copy), your passport, and divorce papers if you were previously married.

You can don traditional clothing or opt for Fijian dress for you and your bridal party. Musicians are readily available as are clergy or secular officials licensed to perform marriage ceremonies. Plenty of destination wedding planners are accessible to offer help and suggestions if you decide to proceed in that manner.
